During NBA All-Star Weekend 2019, Women Within and Nike partnered again to bring together a panel of women to share their experiences and advice with creative women of all backgrounds.
Rox Brown, a stylist, Melody Ehansi, a designer and store-owner, and Ivy Sole, a musician and record-label owner, each discussed the progression of their careers and the pressure of being female in male-driven industries.
Following the panel, style influencers Sasha Elina and Alani Figueroa hosted a vision board workshop, combining dreams with action and accountability.

Samantha Jo Alanso has made a career of uplifting others and serving her community. One of her many projects is Sock Sammy Jo, a tie-dye sock collection that grew from donating socks to those in need.
For Women Within Series VII, we were pleased to speak with Samantha about the importance of giving back and using one’s talents to uplift others. In addition to Sock Sammy Jo, Samatha created a stationary line XO SammyJo with short, empowering messages that are perfect for any occasion.
The Series VII activation included an anklet making workshop, where participants were encouraged to choose colors and patterns that carry significance. Attendees also used XO SammyJo stationary to write letters to their future selves, taking inspiration from the themes of calling, creativity, and communication. Six months after the event, each note was mailed to its author for a surprise message of encouragement.

In 2019, Nike, A Ma Maniere, and Women Within partnered to develop a week-long series of women’s events during Super Bowl LIII. Paula Cuevas | Website, Rochelle Bennett, and Cristy Montoya were featured during the panel and spoke about finding and amplifying their creative voices.
The Air Max 270 was released during this week as one of Nike’s newest and most innovative models. A Ma Maniere was the first retailer to carry the Air Max 270, and Women Within helped develop its initial launch.
“Just Go Bigger” was the theme of the launch, and the Women Within events encouraged women to embrace their voices and just go bigger in all aspects of their lives. As women, we need to find our direction, design our own lives, and just go bigger.
